Esther López Navarro

 

Esther López Navarro, artistically known as Esther Eeleene, is a dancer, choreographer, and filmmaker born in Barcelona in 1999. Her career has unfolded between Spain and South Korea, where she has explored K-Pop, traditional Korean dance, and its fusion with Western contemporary dance. Through her work, she seeks to build intercultural bridges and push the boundaries of choreography.

Experiencing different cultures has shaped her artistic voice. Drawing inspiration from both her roots and the cultures she encounters, her choreographies blend tradition and innovation, creating a unique movement language full of contrast.

Esther is known for her ability to merge multiple disciplines, including dance, film, painting, performing arts, documentary, and visual storytelling. Her layered compositions offer a rich, immersive experience. Her short video art piece Hello, my name is Blue won the 2024 Arte Laguna Prize, standing out among 10,000 works.

Deeply involved in every stage of the creative process—from concept to completion—Esther sees art as a whole, where dance is just one piece of a much broader universe. Her work addresses essential themes, challenging audiences while reaffirming the beauty and intensity of life.

Her choreographic works have been presented at festivals and venues such as the Seoul Street Art Festival, Cita con la Danza Benicàssim, Valencia Dancing Forward, Daegu Dance Festival, Dyptik Studios, Can Felipa (Barcelona), and the Conservatory of Castellón, among others.

As a performer, she has danced at the Biennale of Dance in Venice, IT Dansa, Valencia Dancing Forward, Visceral Dance Chicago, and Unaiuna, among others.
